A Home Alarm Security System Is A Must When This
Occurs
There are
several factors that most people don't even know about that can
compromise the safety of their homes. Oftentimes it is very costly
to fix these safety compromisers. A better solution is to purchase
a home alarm security system. What can compromise the safety of
your home? Here's a look.
One of the biggest factors is having glass around your entry
doors. While there are many aesthetic reasons why somebody would
put windows and glass panels around entryways, from a security
standpoint it's a no-no. Sure, it's visually appealing and it feels
good when the sunlight beams through, but it also has a way of
attracting burglars as well.
Burglars are looking for the easiest homes to break into so they
minimize the risk of getting caught. One of the things they look
for our homes that have glass around an entry way so they can
simply break the glass and gain entry into the home. Of course, a
home alarm system would detect this.
Most home security systems have the ability to sense when glass
is being broken. What happens when glass breaks is that it sends
shock waves into the environment around it. A home alarm security
system can convert the shockwaves into electrical signals, which
would notify monitoring station, which in turn will notify the
proper authorities.
If you think a system like this is too costly, then at least
purchase and install a two-sided deadbolt if you live in a home
that has glass anywhere near an entry door. Two sided dead bolts
require a key to unlock the door from both the outside and the
inside. Unfortunately, it has its own distinct disadvantage -- if
doesn't allow a quick escape, such as when there is an emergency or
fire inside the home.
A third thing to consider if you do not want an alarm system, is
to replace the glass with reinforced glass. You can either get
glass that has wire inside of it, or you can get glass bricks. One
benefit of glass bricks is that they still permit light to enter
the home through the window, but do not allow people to see
inside.
The fact is that having glass around an entry door is just one
of several security compromisers. That's why a home alarm security
system should be seriously considered if you wish to protect
valuables in your home as well as the safety of your family.
